The Last 90 Days of 2017, are you winding down or ramping up?

It’s official y’all – we’re down to the last 90 Days of 2017! Are you winding down or ramping up?

For some of us, we’ve already decided that 2017 is pretty much over. The holidays are just around the corner, we’re taking the kids to all their activities, it’s just easier to go with the flow than to focus on your big goals.

But in today’s episode of Uncomplicate Your Business, I wanna talk about why NOW is the perfect time to start ramping up and laying the foundation for 2018 in these last 90 Days. Today I’m sharing how you can use the last 90 Days of 2017 to really set yourself up for success in 2018.

Today, we’re talking about how to make the MOST of these LAST 90 DAYS of 2017. Too many entrepreneurs GIVE UP on their 2017 goals in these last 90 Days.

The calendar has turned to October and they feel like if they didn’t achieve their goals, they might as well let them go.

The problem?

90 Days from TODAY – January 1st, 2018 – they will sit down and write out the SAME GOALS for their life and business.

But you don’t have to WAIT until New Year’s Day to set your goals for 2018! You can set them right now!
It’s almost like a secret bonus – you get an EXTRA THREE MONTHS to achieve those big goals for 2018.

When you look at it this way, the next 90 Days is the perfect time to ramp up to the New Year so you can really hit the ground running.

3 Ways to Make The Most of The Last 90 Days in 2017:

1: Imagine it’s New Year’s Day. We have a brand new year, which means brand new goals. What are your big goals for 2018? These can be in any area of your life and business.

Now take a look at those goals and think about what you can do, right now, to lay the foundation for achieving that goal.

  • Is there something you need to do?
  • Something you need to learn?
  • Someone you need to ask for help or habits you need to upgrade?

In my business, I have a big goal to grow my signature online mastermind in 2018 and my team has been helping me build the systems and structure to support more clients.

BUT there is one area that has been holding us back – Facebook Ads. So for my last 90 days, I’m taking a Facebook Ads training to set myself up for success in 2018.

For my personal goals, I’ve been taking my self-care much more seriously the last few years as I’ve had to navigate some health challenges around my adrenal fatigue and anxiety.

Going into 2018, I want to stay consistent with my self-care because it’s made such a huge difference in my health, my mindset, and how I show up each day.

So for my last 90 days, I’m committing to walking 10,000 steps a day, drinking 100oz of water, and getting to bed by 10 PM.

Why just 3-5?

Because too many, and it’s really easy to get overwhelmed! But if you stick to just a few, it’s easier to upgrade those habits and take action.

2: Listen to NATURE. Fall is all about letting go of what isn’t working for you. What do you need to say NO to? What do you need to take off your plate?

Now that you’ve spent a little time thinking about your big goals for the year ahead, you’ve gotta get 100% honest with yourself. What is holding you back from making time for those goals?

For so many women, it’s simply having too much on an already overflowing plate. We say yes to all the things, but rarely make time for what matters most, to us.

Now is a really good time to assess how you are spending your time and energy.

  • Where are your time and energy leaks?
  • Do you need to say NO to a few things?
  • Do you need to press PAUSE on a few things?

This fall, my husband and I make a big decision to limit my kids’ activities to just one activity per kid. Last year was BANANAS with too many kid’s activities, and we were all tired and overwhelmed by the end of the week.

By limiting our calendar to just 1 kid’s activity per kid, we gave ourselves easily 5 hours a week back as a family.

In my business, it meant putting some big ideas on hold for a while. If you’ve been following me for a while, you might know that I developed a weekly planning system called Best Week Ever and I would LOVE to turn it into a gorgeous physical planner!

But when I got clear about everything else on my plate, I realized that NOW was not the perfect time to add another project to the mix. I needed to stay focused on my core offerings.

It doesn’t mean it won’t happen – it just won’t happen this quarter.

3: Don’t just FIND time, MAKE time for what matters most to you!

This is seriously one of the most important habit upgrades you can make to achieve literally any goal.

So often, when we say that we want to improve an area of our life or business, we try to squeeze in time around all the other things we have going on.

You can’t squeeze more into an already overflowing plate! You have to clear some space and make time for what you’re really focused on.

Earlier this year, I realized I was struggling to get in enough exercise. I was trying to squeeze in an hour here or there but I wasn’t consistent at all!

Then I made a simple change – instead of letting the 90 minutes between putting my twins on the bus and dropping my 4 year old off at preschool go to waste, I decided that would be MY TIME.

So I made a plan – I’d get up, put on my walking clothes, make kids breakfast, and after walking my twins to the bus stop, I’d listen to a podcast or audiobook and get in a solid 60-minute walk every morning.

And it all started with making time!

In my business, I decided a few months ago that I wanted to do more Facebook Lives! I’d already been hosting a weekly live Q&A for my clients inside my Sweet Spot Strategy online mastermind? so I knew that if I just set a day and time, I’d make it happen!

And since making that decision and blocking off time in my calendar – last month I did 5 Facebook Lives which lead to a big upswing in new people discovering me and my business? and it all started with MAKING TIME on my calendar, each and every week.

So what do you need to make time for?

A quick recap for you:

1: What are your top 3-5 big goals for 2018? These can be in any area of your life, business, health, relationships – just start thinking NOW about where you want to go!

2: What do you need to say NO to? This is a time of year when a lot of us are saying YES to way too much – leaving no room for what matters most to you. It’s OK to say NO!

3: Block out TIME for those big goals! You can’t just hope you’ll have time left over to work towards what you really want in your life and business – you’ve gotta make some time. Get out your calendar and block it out!
